Guyana will be attending the World Travel Market
(WTM) in November 2007. WTM is one of the largest and most important
travel shows for reaching not only the large UK travel industry
and press, but also travel professionals from throughout Europe.
It has re-emerged as a very strong show, based on the number of
business contacts generated from the last few years that the GTA
has attended. The Guyana Tourism Authority's booth is always a big
attraction at the exhibition. Each year the booth showcases our
rich culture, flora,fauna, food, drinks and much more. Don't miss
it. Visit Guyana's booth at WTM 2007.
The Guyana contingent will be promoting “Guyana Naturally;
the Choice of the Nature Lover” at World Travel Market 2007,
placing emphasis on initiatives presently being undertaken such
as Birding, the Pakaraima Safari and adventure travel across the
country.
Additionally information will be disseminated on the plans for
CARIFESTA X to be held in Guyana next year. This will showcase the
culture of the Caribbean as a collective community.

Guyana will
be participating in the activities in “The Caribbean Area”.
This Area is recognized as the only place at WTM where you can be
entertained by internationally recognized bands and artistes eat
tasty Caribbean food and drink a cocktail of rums and punches from
30 different countries. Guyana will be providing samples of our
premier Rums and other cocktail beverages to visitors to the booth.

and be part of this “must attend event”.
• Thursday November 15- Meeting with the Members
of the Diaspora
Working in collaboration with the Guyana High Commission, London,
Guyana Tourism Authority will be hosting a cocktail and presentation
at the GHC London to introduce the newly appointed Director Mr Indranauth
Haralsingh. Mr Haralsingh will utilise this opportunity to enlighten
the members of the Diaspora on his vision for tourism development
in Guyana; initiatives towards increased destination marketing,
upcoming events and promotions for national activities such as Mashramani
and Carifesta 2008.

The Caribbean Association of Indigenous Bankers Conference
November 12-15, 2007
The Caribbean Associations of Indigenous Bankers is a community
of locally owned banks and sister financial institutions in the
CARICOM region. It is a forum which provides the opportunity for
locally incorporated /owned entities to discuss issues that relate
to and have an impact on Banking and Finance. It is a platform which
provides financial institutions with the opportunity to influence
regional policy on those issues that have major implications for
the banking and business sectors.The CAIB was founded in 1974 following
the 1973 inaugural meeting of the Standing Committee of Ministers
responsible for Finance.
The CAIB has an asset base of approximately US$ 17.5 billion and
falls under the aegis of a Board of Directors and sub-committees
which provide the Association with strategic oversight and direction.
The routine management of the association is assigned to a Secretariat
located in St. Lucia,Membership

Guyana is the host country for the 34th session of the CAIB -AGM/Conference.
Discussions will take place against the background of the Caricom
