Licensing Notice
The Guyana Tourism Authority is governed by the Guyana Tourism Authority Act Chapter 91:12. The Authority is the legal identifiable body for regulating the tourism sector in Guyana. In fulfilling its mandate, the Authority is now in the process of Licensing Tourism Businesses as is required in section 31 and 32 of the Guyana Tourism Authority Act.

Section 31
Any person who desires to operate a tourism business shall make an application to the Authority in such a manner accompanied with such particulars and with such fee as may be prescribed by the regulations; a person shall furnish such additional particulars as the Authority may request in any particular case.
Section 32(1)
No person shall operate any tourism business except under, and in accordance with a licence issued by the Authority.
(2) A licence issued under sub-section (1) shall be subject to such conditions as may be prescribed by regulations.
(3) Any person who operates a tourism business without a licence is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of one million six hundred thousand dollars and, a further fine of eighty thousand dollars for each day, which the offence continues after conviction.
