The K&S Football Tournament is a annual event which kicks off in the peak of the Christmas season. As such it presents one of our cornerstones for the development of sports tourism. It dates back to 1989 when the first tournament was played – exclusively with teams from Linden. During the 90s the tournaments grew into a national and later even an international event with an increasing number of foreign teams participating.

This is a regatta-like event with several speeding boats in different power categories competing for trophies and cash prizes, there will also be canoe race,athletics, Jet Skiing and a grand after party.

'Mash' as it is commonly know is a carnival like festival signifying "celebration after hard work". This year our event will be celebrated under a theme "Reflecting Creativity, Embracing Diversity". Mashramani, a festival that fuses the ethnic makeup of Guyana is celebrated to mark Guyana's anniversary date after gaining Republican status on the 23rd February, 1970. This year, Guyana will be celebrating 43 years to commemorate its birth anniversary as a Republican. This event is celebrated with floats and parades depicting various themes of our culture which will be display along the streets in Georgetown heading to the National Park. Families will usually converge on the roadsides picknincking and partying to calypso, chutney and soca music. Mashramani is also celebrated in every region across Guyana with events such as Calypso Competition, Steel Pan Competition and Children's Costume Parade.

The largest Chutney music festival in Guyana with bands from Trinidad, Guyana, Suriname, New York and Toronto competing to be the best in Chutney music industry. Some of the biggest Chutney artistes Ki, Ravi B, Terry Gajraj, Mahendra Ramkellawan and 12 other bands and crew all competing on one stage.

Phagwah or Holi is a Hindu Festival celebrated to commemorate the beginning of the spring season and triumph of good over evil. Hindu scriptures recount the story of King Hiranyakashipu who wanted to kill his son Prahalad for worshipping God instead of the King. Thus, on full moon night in the month of Phagun or March, a Caster Oil tree is planted among a pile of dry wood/brush (bonfire style) is burnt symbolising the burning and destruction of Holika or Evil. Countrywide there will be hundreds of Holikas burning on the eve of Phaghwa. The holiday will be celebrated with people attending thier place of worship(temples) and apply perfumes, colours and powerder on each other, embarcing and showing love. Sweet meats will be prepared and share to everyone attending temples and also homes to sing the name of the lord. On this auspicious day, groups of people will sing chowtals (a traditional hindu devitional hyms) at temples and homes they visited.

The Pakaraima Mountain Safari is an annual event which is endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism Industry and Commerce in collaboration with Rainforest Tours and other major companies sponsoring this expedition. The Pakaraima Mountain Safari takes you into Guyana's hinterland passing through the Pakaraima and other mountains and visiting over twenty Amerindian villages. It is regarded as an experince of a lifetime!. 'Safarians' will have a glimpse of Guyana's scenic beauty through the Pakaraima, they will have a great adventure trip traversing through the Pakaraima mountians on 4 X 4 all terrian vehicles and pickups, see our rich biodiversity, wetlands, vast unending savannahs, mountians, vallies birds, the beautiful Orinduik Fall which is a natural jaccuzi that thunders on jasper rocks and most of all experience the hospitality and low carbon lifestyle of our indigenous Amerindian tribes that they will meet along the route.
