Procedure for two foreigners to get married in Guyana

• Both Parties have to be in the country for 15 days.

• They can apply to get married within the 15 days.

• They have to purchase  a marriage package from GPO for  $110.00

• Take petition (part of the package) to the commissioner of Oaths for notification.

• Photocopy all particulars from the passport.

• Must have birth certificates.

• If married before, they must have an original Absolute

• If Getting married at the Guyana Post Office they have to pay $2080.00.

• If not getting married at the Guyana Post Office they have to state the name for the marriage officer and where they are getting married

• They have the option of submitting  the form and then come to get married after the 15th day.

Procedure for one foreigner and one Guyanese to get married in Guyana

The foreigner has to be in the country for 4 days, and the rest of the procedure is the same.
