About Berbice:

Berbice is often described as the ancient County. Unlike Essequibo and Demerara which were governed by the Dutch West India Company, Berbice was controlled by several dutch merchants From the mid 17th century to the early 19th century. The county of Berbice boasts some of the finest aspects of Guyana's cultural heritage There is a little of everythiing for one to enjoy from fine architecture, agricultureal and industrial heritage to lush flora and fauna all with a hint of history which the towns folk enjoy telling.
